Joshua Tree National Park entrances
Joshua Tree National Park has three entrance stations. The best gate depends on where you start and where you want to go inside the park.

- West Entrance: The West Entrance is five miles south of the Highway 62 and Park Boulevard junction at Joshua Tree Village.
- North Entrance: The North Entrance is in Twentynine Palms, three miles south of the Highway 62 and Utah Trail junction.
- South Entrance: The South Entrance at Cottonwood Spring is on Interstate 10, about 25 miles east of Indio.
Which Joshua Tree entrance should you use?
Use the West Entrance near Joshua Tree Village if you arrive from Highway 62 and Park Boulevard. Use the North Entrance in Twentynine Palms if you approach from the north on Highway 62. Use the South Entrance at Cottonwood Spring if you arrive on Interstate 10 east of Indio. Do not rely on GPS alone. Some routes send drivers onto impassable backcountry roads.
