The Zion Canyon shuttle normally runs daily in May. Hours change during the month.

- 2026 late-May schedule: From May 17 through May 31, the first canyon shuttle leaves the visitor center at 7:00 am and the last leaves at 7:00 pm.
- Scenic drive access: During shuttle season, private vehicles cannot use Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, including before the first shuttle and after the last shuttle of the day.
- The Narrows: The Narrows closes when Virgin River flow exceeds 150 cubic feet per second or when the weather service issues a flash flood warning.
Should you plan around the Zion Canyon shuttle in May?
Plan to use the free park shuttle for Zion Canyon Scenic Drive on most days in May. You do not need a ticket or reservation for the shuttle. If you want to drive the scenic road yourself, check whether your dates fall outside shuttle season.
